BPA News Updates and information from the BPA team Association calendar 7 NOVEMBER North West Group meeting 13 NOVEMBER Parking and Transport Wales Group meeting 14 NOVEMBER South Central Group meeting 19 NOVEMBER North East Group meeting 20 NOVEMBER Members Dinner Elite Management (Midlands) loses BPA membership The BPA has terminated the membership of Elite Management (Midlands). After investigations arising from complaints by motorists, we have identified and confirmed multiple non-compliances with our code of practice for our Approved Operators Scheme (AOS). These include misuse of data and failure to run a fair and professional operation. We have awarded 15 sanction points in accordance with our scheme of sanctions. When an approved operator receives 12 or more sanction points in a 12-month period, the operator is referred to our professional conduct and scrutiny panel. In this case, the panel concluded that the membership of Elite Management (Midlands) should be terminated. This termination also ends its membership of a DVLA Accredited Trade Association. Standards for professional conduct and members responsibilities to promote the profession in the best possible manner at all times are set out in our Code of Professional Conduct. It is a very important statement of what it means to be part of our not-forprofit Association, and the high levels of professionalism that are required of all members. We are committed to raising standards in the management of parking on private land and our code of practice is continuously improved through consultation with key stakeholders, including consumer groups and government, said Steve Clark, the BPAs head of operations. We have now expelled eight operators who have failed to comply with our code of practice. 26 NOVEMBER Midlands Group meeting 27 NOVEMBER Yorkshire and Humber Group meeting 29 NOVEMBER Local Authority Group meeting 3 DECEMBER London Group meeting 4 DECEMBER Southern Group meeting 5 DECEMBER South West Group meeting 12 DECEMBER Parking Technology Group meeting Dates are subject to change: for confirmation, please go to britishparking.co.uk/Events Wellbeing hub launch The BPA is pleased to announce that, from 1 November, all individual members will have access to a wellbeing hub run by CiC.
