We look at what your donations have achieved Marie Curie volunteers have been at the major BPA events during the past three years he BPA selected Marie Curie as its corporate charity in 2016. The charity offers care and support for families during terminal illness, to help them make the most of the time they have together. It does this by offering expert care, support and guidance at an emotional and often overwhelming time. Since the partnership began in 2016, you have raised a wonderful 6,000 at BPA events and through your own fundraising efforts. Thanks to you, an additional six patients and their families have been supported during their time of need. Your donations equate to an extra 33 nursing night shifts or 300 hours of specialist nursing care in the homes of people who need it the most, says Tracey North, Marie Curie fundraising manager. As well as hands-on nursing care, Marie Curie looks after the wellbeing of the patients families, so your fundraising has made a difference to the lives of many people. T Helping even more people Three years is a long time in the journey of an organisation, and the BPA is proud to have stood alongside Marie Curie as it has made changes to allow it to help even more people at the end of their lives. The charity has become Marie Curie, instead of Marie Curie Cancer Care. This decision was made to make sure that people with any lifelimiting illness knew that they could use the services we have to offer, not just if you had a terminal cancer diagnosis, explains North.
