Reader survey results T H E T R A D I N G S TA N DA R D S J O U R NA L In review February 2016 Issue 5 TSR Feb16 pp01 cover and spine.indd 5 26/01/2016 10:00 In November 2015 we ran the first reader survey for CTSI publications since the launch of TS Review. Here, we publish the results J ust over one year and five published magazines in and we can finally reveal what the readership thinks of CTSI publications flagship journal, TS Review you love it. The first reader survey for TS Review was run at the end of last year and, of those who responded, 87 per cent rated the quality/value as excellent or good. In terms of its design quality, 89 per cent rated it as excellent or good. Other notable findings include 72per cent either reading the magazine from cover to cover or most of it, while 66 per cent of readers, who responded, have used content from the magazine to support their day-to-day role. We also received some welcome and informative comments about the content and design, with one of the few criticisms being the thickness of the paper, which is not as easy to fold as the former printed version of TS Today. TS Today also continues to satisfy the majority of the readership, with 76 per cent of respondents rating the design as excellent or good, while 88 per cent rated the amount of interactive content as perfect or OK. But weve not finished with evolving the magazines yet. As well as taking into account reader survey results, the editorial team continues to receive advice and guidance from our editorial board, which helps to drive the direction and purpose of both publications. As we have always made clear, it is you whether as contributor, debater or reader that makes the publications what they are, so please continue to submit your article ideas, written features, news stories and letters to either tstoday@tsi.org.uk or tsreview@tsi.org.uk, and we will do our utmost to feature them. In the meantime, here we share a selection of comments already received from you, and the type of content you would like to see more of. ial team he editor T Thank you for reading. WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO S EE MORE OF l Information about how trading l Food hygiene in primary production standards services are tackling austerity and being inventive to l Case reviews, and guidance and inputs from lead officers save jobs l Animal health/agriculture l More articles about and the l Metrology opportunity to discuss the l More letters from members future role for trading standards l New legislation in what is a very different and l Relevant/notable court cases fast-changing consumer fraud l Product safety landscape VALUE OF TS REVIEW I have given an excellent rating as I feel that the quality and value of TS Review thoroughly deserves this. The magazine has a very modern, highly polished look but it remains entirely professional in its approach. I intend to continue with my membership so I guess that this fact alone helps to illustrate my views on the value of TS Review. I very much look forward to receiving my copy every three months. Excellent articles every time Generally good articles, well written, well researched. Id like to see more case law and legal opinion, and more articles from trading standards professionals I would be happy with a cheaper, lower quality paper Content excellent, cardboard its printed on too thick Great! Dont like digital magazine prefer paper TSR for reference every month I think the layout is great and the selection of photographs/ illustrations all blend together well. It is also good to be able toput faces to names in terms of the photos/artwork of the TS Review team. Photos good but would enjoy more letters Book format means it can be used over and over again and kept as reference more easily than previous monthly paper issues My line manager is a non-member but occasionally I will share information/articles relating to weights and measures with him. Outside of work my father-in-law, a former building inspector, enjoys having a quick read through. He too feels that TS Review is one of the better professional magazines out there Good coverage of the wide range of issues a TSO has to deal with The information presented is timely and thorough. I nd it informative and a good way of knowing what is going on in other trading standard authorities Its refreshing! Good refresh and update since [the printed version of] TS Today. I know its a quarterly publication so is going to be a bit more substantive, but I like the feel to the paper rather than a glossy magazine! Really like the paper copy. Nice size and good info about the contributors. To share this page, in the toolbar click on You might also like Weve gone digital September 2014
