The purpose of this safety notice is to draw attention to the causes of loss of control in-flight and poor aircraft energy management, and promote the avoidance of undesirable aircraft trim conditions. This is with particular reference to aircraft equipped with conventional trimming systems (that is, non-fly-by-wire) and aircraft that use manual trim back-up systems in the event of an electronic trim system malfunction. https://publicapps.caa.co.uk/docs/33/SafetyNotice2019005.pdf SN-2019/006 Components Strip Reports Regulation (EU) No 1321/2014 M.A.301, Continuing Airworthiness Tasks, requires the aircrafts continuing airworthiness, and the serviceability of both operational and emergency equipment of all complex motor-powered aircraft or aircraft used by licensed air carriers in accordance with regulation (EC) No 1008/2008, are ensured by performing analysis of the effectiveness of the approved aircraft maintenance programme. http://publicapps.caa.co.uk/docs/33/SafetyNotice2019006.pdf SW2019/146 Standards Document No 29 Version 8 This guidance on the requirements for the training and testing of Human Factors for Flightcrew under EASA Part-ORO and EASA Part-FCL has now been published. The update follows amendments to the Air Navigation Order and splits the content into three separate documents: CAP722: Unmanned Aircraft System Operations in UK Airspace Guidance and Policy; CAP722A: Unmanned Aircraft System Operations in UK Airspace Operating Safety Cases; CAP722B: Unmanned Aircraft System Operations National Qualified Entity. http://skywise.caa.co.uk/small-unmanned-aircraft-guidance-policyupdate/?cat=22 SW2019/154 New Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) Regulations From the 9th July 2019, new rules came into effect on the use of EFB for CAT, NCC, SPO and NCO operators. The CAA instigated a new approval process, which can be found on the CAA website. CAT operators must seek prior approval, and complete the EFB compliance checklist found in SRG1849. NCC, SPO and NCO operators do not require approval, but the SRG1849 will guide them to the appropriate regulations. CAT operators already approved for EFB operations may continue to exercise this privilege but should complete the SRG1849 as a gap analysis to ensure compliance with the new regulations. http://skywise.caa.co.uk/new-electronic-flight-bag-efbregulations SW2019/157 Identification requirement for flightcrew licensing applications This notification updates and replaces the information sent on 4th May 2018 as SW2018/75.
