BPA corporate charity The power of a cuppa Nick Hannan, relationship fundraising manager at Macmillan Cancer Support, invites you to join us for a cup of coffee and shares Sals story to show just how much your support matters s we hurtle towards the end of the year, our next, and perhaps most famous, fundraising event is just around the corner Macmillan Coffee Morning. Last year, it raised more than 15m for people living with cancer, which helped to fund our amazing Macmillan nurses, answer calls on our support line, give financial support and more. Wed love as many of you as possible to get involved this year. I know I sound like a stuck record, but the need for us to fundraise has never been greater. New research from Macmillan suggests that at least 100,000 people across the UK have seen their cancer progress or get worse, or they have been left with fewer treatment options because of increasing delays in being diagnosed and starting treatment during the past 10 years. To keep pace with demand for our services, we must continue to fundraise. Voluntary A donations make up 98 per cent of our income, and without the generosity of our supporters, we simply wouldnt be able to support those who need our help. Since the inception of our partnership with the BPA in 2020, a brilliant 12,870 has been raised so thanks to all of you who have supported us. Its super easy to host your own coffee morning. The official date is 29 September, but you can hold it whenever it suits you best. We have all the resources you need to get started in our fundraising pack, including a poster, invites, food-label cards, a leaflet from our sponsors including recipes, paying-in slips, a sticker sheet with your unique fundraising page, QR codes, a fundraising game poster, large moneybox, a tablecloth, balloons, cake flags and bunting. So, what are you waiting for?! Please contact me directly at nhannan@ macmillan.org.uk or Michelle Boshoff-Turner at michelle.b@britishparking.co.uk and well send you your pack. Thank you. What your fundraising could support 20 could pay for 250 copies of our credit-card sized resource explaining, graphically, the signs and symptoms of some common cancers. This has become one of our most popular resources and is particularly popular with men, who are often reluctant to pick up other materials. 33 could pay for a Macmillan nurse for one hour, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support. 350 could pay for a Macmillan grant to help someone with the extra costs that living with cancer can bring. 24 PN Sept 2023 pp24-25 Macmillan.indd 24 24/08/2023 11:59
