Companies news SWARCO Traffic delivers new parking guidance for Ipswich New appointment for Truvelo SWARCO Trac, a trac technology specialist, has installed a new parking guidance and management solution to reduce congestion, and assist drivers in finding available parking spaces, throughout Ipswich. Ipswich has several public car parks in its town centre and by the waterfront that can become extremely busy, especially during peak times, leading to congestion in the town. Working in partnership with Ipswich Borough Council, SWARCO developed and installed five variable messaging signs (VMS) throughout the town centre to display parkingspace availability. The signs give the number of free spaces in green or display full in red, enabling drivers to clearly see, from a distance, whether spaces are available in a particular car park. The energy-ecient VMS can display any image or text, so can be used for many purposes. These include trac-ow information, safety announcements, and to inform drivers and visitors of events, maintenance works, or road closures in and around the town.
