The lack of containers and shipping crisis has also hit hard. And yet, says Williamson, theres been a strangely positive side effect. LEARNING PATIENCE We see increased tolerance from clients and modified expectations of all parties involved. Were learning patience. Weve become used to being unable to control everything we can no longer impress customers by getting a move done in record time. Instead, we see how the value of good communication has increased. Were also seeing a trend in accounts keen to approve the extra charges that derive from the long time involved in a move. These include allowances for temporary housing; and additional services are being increased or extended without difficulty. Transparent invoicing in the real price of international freight is valued by our partners and their auditors. Honesty seems to be the best policy.
