Editorial Third time lucky Its been a year since we launched Interview, the transport industry magazine from Interfleet, and wed like to welcome you to our third issue. Interfleet and the team have been busy since our last edition, and weve even had some external recognition for the magazine. Interview has recently been named Best Magazine at the Institute of Internal Communications Awards, beating a strong field, and were delighted to be recognised for our work. See here for further details. As I approach the third year in my role as Group HR Director here at Interfleet, this issue has given me a chance to reflect on and appreciate just what weve achieved in that time. Our main focus in this issue is people; as a consultancy we cannot do what we do without our people. They are the reason our strapline is Because Expertise Matters. The word engagement is often bandied about in the business world, but what does it really mean and is it possible to correlate highly engaged people directly with our business results? I was interviewed for the feature on engagement, and you can read my view and find out about the journey of engagement that weve been on, and continue to take, here at Interfleet on page 14. Our cover storyis about the UK Rolling Stock team. We interviewed them for the feature as Interfleet is still the leading name in rolling stock expertise, and rolling stock forms the backbone of the Interfleet business. You read more more in this issue about how the team has developed and continues to evolve. Australasia is the regional focus for this issue and we talk to Mark Hughes, our new Regional Director for Australasia and Richard Catlow, New Zealands Regional Manager. Read about the region, project news and their plans for the future. Theres news from across the regions, with award wins being shared and celebrated, and you can meet one of our senior managers in North America Nigel Davies in our 60-second interview on the back page. Nigel moved from the UK to North America nearly 10 years ago. You will read, however, that you can take the boy out of Derby, but you cant take Derby County Football Club out of the boy. Our next issue will be out in late 2015, but to keep up to date on developments at Interfleet visit our website. We hope you enjoy the read.
