Changing times Welcome to the Spring 2020 edition of TSBN. Frances Darling is trading standards and licensing manager with Shropshire Council, and its representative on the CEnTSA management board Continue to prepare as much as you can to deal with the impact of what is the most significant political decision this country has made in recent times As you will be only too well aware, the UK left the European Union (EU) at the end of January. We are now in a transition period until the end of December, during which time the government and the EU will negotiate additional arrangements. We will try to keep you up to date with emerging issues and provide businesses with any relevant information over the next few editions. In the meantime, continue to prepare as much as you can to deal with the impact of what is the most significant political decision this country has made in recent times. In the Spring edition, we want to raise your awareness of legislation changes over the forthcoming months. Our main feature is aimed at estate and letting agents, primarily off the back of the implementation of the Tenant Fees Act 2019, although the article covers much more than just this. In addition, we advise food businesses about the need to be registered with their local authority and raise the importance of mental health in the workplace. But there is much more, so please read on and enjoy and feel free to circulate this and future editions of TSBN to other organisations and your colleagues. Until next time, For further information, please contact your local Trading Standards Service
