Leave a life without limits Gifts in Wills help us reach more than half the people we support, and are vital to ensure future generations of people with arthritis can live life without limits. We have recently produced a new film featuring Jacqueline, one of our supporters, talking about her arthritis, the help she has received from Arthritis Care and Gifts in Wills. Arthritis Care calls for better support Arthritis Care has urged the government to do more for people with arthritis, in its response to the Work, health and disability green paper. The document asked for feedback on plans to support more disabled people into employment. While there is some recognition in the green paper of the impact of musculoskeletal conditions, Arthritis Care thinks much more needs to be done to support people with arthritis whether or not they are able to work. We argued for a better deal from the health service, employment support and the benefits system. Click here to read more. exploring Closer ties with arthritis researCh uk Arthritis Care and Arthritis Research UK are exploring how we can work more closely together, to achieve our combined vision of improving the quality of life of people with arthritis. Judi Rhys, CEO of Arthritis Care, and Liam OToole, CEO of Arthritis Research UK, said: Both charities are passionate about changing attitudes towards arthritis and offering more and better support for people with arthritis through service provision, research and influence, to secure change to improve peoples lives today and in the future. We believe we can achieve more together and are pleased to be discussing how to progress this in the best interests of people with arthritis. A steering group made up of representatives from each charity is taking discussions further and will make recommendations to the Boards of Trustees this summer. Well keep you up to date in the next issue of Inspire. at arthritis Care, we want to hear from as many people with arthritis as possible. what we do aims to benefit people living with musculoskeletal conditions directly, and a significant part of our communication is through booklets and factsheets. our material is reviewed by clinicians and our helpline team, and this ensures that our literature is accurate and evidence-based. we also ask people with arthritis and other musculoskeletal conditions to read our material, to check that the information we produce is useful and accessible. after all, its you were trying to help. we produce more than 40 booklets and factsheets, on a variety of subjects from emotional wellbeing and managing pain, to bakers cyst and living with osteoarthritis. you can help us to help everyone with arthritis by reading our material and telling us what you think.
