Your gift could be a future free from arthritis A gift in your will to Versus Arthritis is a belief in better treatments, more answers, and the milestones were determined to reach in the future. Find out how you can keep supporting us for generations to come. Thanks to gifts left in wills, we were able to fund the discovery of Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF), which was found to be a key factor in joint inflammation. In the 1990s, this led researchers to develop anti-TNF therapies, which have been game-changing for people with arthritis ever since. One of these people is Lara, who was only two when she was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). A year later, she was diagnosed with uveitis an inflammation of the eye, which can lead to sight loss. She has had countless treatments from steroid injections to cataract removal surgery. Lara is now six years old, and, thanks to anti-TNF therapies, she is in remission. The difference is incredible, says her father, Tom. Im just so grateful to the researchers and the charity for funding research into arthritis in children. Gifts in wills have given us our greatest breakthroughs. But theres still so much we need to achieve. Despite her amazing progress, no one can know for sure how long Laras treatment will work, or what the future holds. Thats why its so vital we keep striving. Because there are answers we havent yet discovered for all forms of arthritis, breakthroughs we havent made, and younger generations who we hope will suffer less than ever before. So, after providing for your loved ones, please consider a gift in your will to Versus Arthritis. All gifts, no matter what size, make a real difference and can take us all closer to a future free from arthritis. Do you have questions about making or updating your will?
