Write in Letters Youve been busy writing to us with your tips for living with arthritis Extra support In response to Jean Carters letter about putting on tights (Letters, Inspire Summer 2022), I sit on the bed to put my tights and socks on. Both legs are out in front of you and the bed is supporting them. Either lean forward from the hips and or bend your knees a little or both. Once you have both feet in your tights, swing your legs over the edge of the bed and pull your tights up the legs towards the knees. Stand up to finish the last part. Its a bit of workout, but it is doable without falling over trying to balance on one leg, which happens when I try to do it standing up. Hope that helps you, Jean. Me and a friend go to aquafit every Thursday, and the thought of letting her down really helps make sure I go. My daughter also gets me to walk her mad spaniel with her at least once a week. Jacqui I always do a few stretches while Im waiting for the kettle to boil. Its just habit now. Ruth I mark in my diary when Ive been for a walk or done some other exercise. I like to look back on all the little ticks, and it makes it easy to see when Ive done too much or not enough and need to get moving. Christine GET IN TOUCH!
