Click here to donate Help lighten the load of arthritis pain and isolation this Christmas give people someone like Guy to talk to... Im Guy and I answer calls at the Arthritis Care helpline. When people call me, they are often in pain and they may be withdrawing into themselves. They may want to cry, talk, or vent their anger on someone. And that someone is me. I try hard to be more than just a listening ear. I want to help people do something that will actually make their day, their week and their month better. I listen carefully to their problems and guide them towards more help from their doctor, physio, family, practical information or an arthritis Care community group. I hope that every call reduces the stress of arthritis. all too often, its a vicious cycle. Stress can make pain feel worse, and this nagging pain then leads to sleeplessness. Lack of sleep then becomes fatigue, which makes it more difficult to exercise or walk around, making it harder to get about. Our helpline helps break the cycle; hopefully people who call have a better day once theyve put the phone down. But like all our services, the arthritis Care helpline simply wouldnt exist without people like you and we need to keep raising funds to help extend the service. after dark, when its cold and miserable, people may feel extra low after having a bad day struggling with pain and isolation. Your gift means more people can call us, and we can spend longer talking to those who need us. thanK you! Click here to donate
