To date, it has been shown that engine parts including CFM and GE have been supplied to maintainers with false (ARCs) airworthiness release certificates (Both EASA Form 1 and FAA 8130) and shipping bills that claim provenance back to OEM. Some of these parts have been confirmed on engines that have been fitted to UK-registered aircraft, and as such the purpose of this safety notice is to notify UK organisations of this issue. SN 2020/003 Carbon Monoxide Minimisation and Detection in General Aviation Aircraft Version 3 (July 2023) This safety notice is published to raise awareness around minimising the likelihood of carbon monoxide (CO) contamination, highlighting the hazards associated with carbon monoxide exposure and to provide guidance on the use of carbon monoxide detectors in general aviation (GA) aircraft to protect pilots and passengers. Carbon monoxide poisoning has been cited as a factor in multiple GA accidents globally. In the UK, since 2000 there have been two fatal accidents, one non-fatal accident, and 15 other incidents where CO may have been a causal factor. The potential dangers of carbon monoxide exposure have been highlighted by the UK Air Accidents Investigations Branch (AAIB) in several recent accident reports. SW 2023/260 CAP 493 SI 2023/04: Global Action Plan on the Prevention of Runway Excursion (Version 2) The purpose of this Supplementary Instruction (SI) to the Manual of Air Traffic Services (MATS) Part 1 (CAP 493) is to implement two recommendations from the global action plan on the prevention of runway excursions (GAPPRE) into the runway change procedure detailed in Section 2, Chapter 1. Version two of this supplementary instruction incorporates a change based on industry feedback. This change enables ANSPs to employ an alternative procedure within their MATS Pt 2. SW2023/231 Call for Input: Review of UK UAS Regulations This call for input sets out our early thinking on the opportunities to improve regulation of UAS. It will allow stakeholders to influence policy while we are still developing our proposals. Feedback will be used by CAA, in addition to other evidence and analysis, to inform a future consultation on the changes we propose to progress. The opportunities described in this call for input cover opportunities to simplify the categorisations of operational requirements and to enable the adoption of product requirements.
