So, its crucial to know where to find the current rules and who to contact if more detailed advice is required. The government has produced comprehensive guidance under the general heading Working Safely During Coronavirus. This outlines measures businesses should take to ensure they are operating a COVID-secure environment for customers and employees. Click on the daily updates to see if your sector-specific guidance has been updated. You will find a brief summary of the changes made at the top of each document and these changes should be implemented with immediate eect. Supplementing the governments sector-specific guidance, there is a range of documents by various trade bodies and associations, some of which can be opened through links in the governments sector-guidance webpages. While the government website should be your first point of reference throughout this period, you should contact your local Trading Standards or Environmental Health team if you feel you require more detailed advice about a specific activity within your business particularly if your area is under any advanced restrictions. Where a local authoritys area is subject to tighter controls, there will often be much more detailed information on the councils website, with which you should familiarise yourself.
