The Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) is looking to appoint two new Non-Executive Directors to bring their skills and expertise to its Board, working alongside three Executive Directors, the current five Non-Executive Directors and three members of the CTSI Council. One post is specifically reserved for members and the other from outside of the profession to provide a broader perspective. The successful candidates will: a) Provide a breadth of independent viewpoints with a diverse range of experience to contribute to the successful development of the organisation and its proper governance. b) Be able to demonstrate a commitment to the aims of the trading standards profession In particular we are looking to appoint to one of the positions someone with a high level of experience in the field of human resources with a view to the successful candidate www.tradingstandards.uk chairing one of the Board s two sub committees the Remuneration and Appointments Committee (RAC). Our Board members are currently expected to attend four Board meetings per year and also serve on one of the subcommittees which meet on average twice a year. There may be other ad hoc meetings but the majority of matters are dealt with electronically. Board meetings take place in London or at the CTSI head office based in Basildon, Essex and occasionally at other venues. These posts are not salaried but reasonable expenses will be paid. There is also a small honorarium potentially available for the Chair of the RAC.
