Companies news Yunex develops its Plus solution Yunex Traffic has launched Plus+ Advantage, an innovative solution that allows complex signalised traffic intersection schemes to be delivered without the need for a separate temporary traffic management solution. This significantly reduces cost, carbon emissions, time and disruption to users. The Plus+ solution offers a different approach to traffic signal control, where intelligence and infrastructure are distributed around junctions. This results in a significant reduction in the number of copper cables used, a much simpler installation process, and reduced overall scheme costs. The new Plus+ Advantage draws on these system features to enable even complex signalling schemes to be deployed without the need for temporary traffic signals. Wilke Reints, managing director of Yunex Traffic in the UK, said: We have launched Plus+ Advantage to address the problems of temporary signalling, particularly to deliver reductions to cost, carbon emissions and project length. The system really is living up to its claim of revolutionising traffic signal control. New CCO for ZatPark ZatPark is delighted to have Mark Wilson join as its new chief commercial officer. After a competitive tender process, Swansea Council entered into a commercial contract with SWARCO to replace its existing VAS with electronic signs that dynamically display the approaching vehicles actual speed. The speed will be displayed in green if the vehicle is complying with the new default speed limit, and in red if not. SWARCO will install 120 bespoke VAS throughout the city. The signs feature SWARCOs patented EPIX lens technology system to ensure the lowest power consumption. They use radar to detect vehicle speeds and an energy-efficient LED display to clearly show messages to oncoming drivers. The signs are also equipped with internal data logging, so the council will be able to monitor changing driver behaviour. Neil Holland, traffic engineer at Swansea Council, said: This equipment should help to encourage motorists to lower their speed when new government legislation relating to urban traffic speeds comes into force in the coming months.
