F ID I C O N FE RENCE 2022 FIDI DELEGATES MEETING AND GENERAL ASSEMBLY A summary of the main outcomes from the Delegates Meeting and General Assembly during the FIDI Conference and subsequent regional FIDI Affiliates meetings T he 2022 FIDI Conference in Cannes was the setting for the 2022 FIDI Delegates Meeting on Sunday 10 April and the General Assembly (GA) on 13 April 2022. This was followed by a series of online regional FIDI Affiliates meetings on 11 and 12 May, organised by the FIDI office, where Jesse van Sas, FIDI Secretary General, and Laura Ganon, new FIDI President, gave some more details and explanation on the main decisions and discussion points of the governance meetings. The presentation slides from these meetings can be downloaded from FIDINET. Outgoing FIDI President Ebru Demirel oversees the Delegates Meeting on Sunday 10 April Here is a summary of the main points: l State of FIDI: With the ongoing pandemic and its global consequences, FIDI lost some members (mainly branches) in 2021 and early 2022, with the total number of affiliated companies (head offices and branches) now at 561. This was compounded by travel restrictions, which led to an audit delay for new members throughout 2021. Thankfully, audits for new Affiliates resumed in March 2022, and there is a very positive pipeline of first-time applicants ready to join FIDI. The Board is hopeful that at least 10 new applicants will obtain FAIM accreditation and become part of FIDI before the end of 2022. You can find the list of new members and cancelled members on the FIDI Affiliates updates page on FIDINET. l FIDI vision and mission: The international moving industry and FIDI Affiliates have changed tremendously since FIDIs last mission and vision statement was written, and it was high time for a change. The Board felt that the mission and vision statement had to reflect the broadened scope of action of FIDI and its members, as well as the shift in focus of the international moving and relocation industry towards global issues and FIDIs role in shaping this shift. FIDIs new vision and mission was unanimously supported by the Delegates. You can see the new statement on page 62. It is also on FIDIs website (www.fidi.org/ about-fidi/mission-vision). l FAIM 2022: The new FAIM Standard was approved at the GA and will come into effect in January 2023. FAIM 2022 includes new elements, such as 60 FF306 June-August 22 pp60-61 DM-GA.indd 60 WWW. F I D I FOC U S . OR G 07/06/2022 10:21
