L I G H T E R S I DE BAINES REACHES QUARTER CENTURY AT BISHOPS MOVE Bob Baines, Ease The Squeezes Brighton Self Store Manager, has celebrated his 25th year of continuous employment at the Bishops Move Group. He started at the company in 1977 working as a nonHGV driver and porter at the Brighton, UK, depot, before gaining his HGV licence and eventually being appointed general foreman. After a short break, Baines returned to the company in 1994, and in 2003 he began running the self-storage depot in Preston Park, Brighton getting involved at the weekends to develop the site building from a conventional storage facility to a modern state-of-the- art building. His role then was to work to transform and manage the newly developed operation that was branded Ease The Squeeze Brighton. Baines said: Having the knowledge of the removal trade behind me is always beneficial when dealing with customers who require storage, particularly in advising customers on the correct size of storage unit when moving in. Discounting the temporary break in employment, Ive worked at Bishops Move now for more than 41 years and have learnt, and seen, a thing or two about the removals and storage industry.
