The Middle East and India-focused company started life in Dubai, UAE, in 1995 and has since expanded to Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Qatar and India. A spokesperson for the company said: Interem has its course set for the coming years, drawing on its experience, as well as flexibility to change with customer and market requirements. Although there is a segment of customers who still want the complete moving services, these are far and few. We are conscious of the changes in the industry shipments are smaller, customers are more global, and technology has crept into this industry, just like any other, and plays a big role. For example, video surveys have become commonplace and people demand more app-based services to do surveys, get quotations, track shipments, and so on. 14 FF296 AprMay20 pp14-19 Ind Newsb.indd 14 Interem in the process of identifying newer leaders and developing them to take on bigger responsibilities to expand the business and brand. We want our business to continue to grow, but have no intention of expanding outside our main markets. We want to be noticed by our customers, potential customers, partners and suppliers as the most recognised brand, and to have the opportunity of working with all these companies. Our vision for the future is to become the most recognised moving company in the markets where we operate. Interems biggest market is India, where the company employs around 400 people and has seen double-digit growth in recent years. Its fastestgrowing markets are Kuwait and Qatar, with huge numbers of expats and locals moving globally. Interem was the first multinational corporation in the relocation industry to start operations in the country, in 1997. It was also the first company to be FAIMcertified in Dubai. Commercial moving services make up around 25 per cent of Interems turnover, while the company also specialises in moving labs, fine art and data centre assets. It handles more than 10,000 shipments in Interem locations and more than 2,000 shipments annually for partners every year. FEDEMAC LAUNCHES EUROPEAN EXCHANGE PLATFORM FEDEMAC has launched its Load Exchange platform, which provides a forum for connecting moving and relocation companies that need transport solutions for booked moves with European movers. The platform is the first of its kind for the European household goods moving industry and aims to provide savings for movers across the continent. Businesses upload photographs and truck details so users can ensure they conform to European licensing requirements. They can also highlight planned trips and available capacity, allowing movers looking for a transport solution to connect with these trips. FEDEMAC will be releasing video tutorials on how to use the platform. It will be free of charge to use during the launch period. WW W. F I D I FOC U S . OR G 31/03/2020 08:40
