F E AT U R E A WELL-CONNECTED AFFILIATE In the run-up to the FIDI Conference 2019, we hear about Rotterdam-based new Affiliate GosselinMobility The Netherlands, from branch manager Maarten van Zutphen C orstjens International has come a long way since its founding in 1946. Specialising in servicing the Eastern-bloc countries and Russia through the gateway of Rotterdam, The Netherlands, the company was eventually acquired by Gosselin Mobility in 1999 because of its connections to those regions. In 2014, Corstjens was rebranded to Gosselin Mobility and has now reinstated its FIDI membership, with plans to focus on developing its Netherlands business. MAARTEN VAN ZUTPHEN, BRANCH MANAGER AT GOSSELIN MOBILITY FF: How has the moving industry in your region evolved during the past decade or so? MVZ: The Netherlands is a very strong private, diplomatic and expat market. The corporate market is also well represented. Today, more and more people including expats use the internet to find the best deals for their move, while the influence of RMCs is growing. FF: What are your biggest opportunities for growth? MVZ: Using our companys footprint and logistics network throughout Europe and the Caucasus/Central Asia to offer integrated and high-quality moving solutions for full moves and small shipments. FF: What is your companys business ethos? MVZ: Our values are: trust and responsibility, team spirit, cost consciousness, flexibility and quality. These are the guiding principles that apply across our organisation and underpin how our work is carried out. They are our basic beliefs about what really matters and guide how things should be done. Our people are our strength; their passion to make a difference to our customers is obvious, and it is the X-factor a company needs to really do good business 58 FF289FebMar19 pp58-59 New Affiliate 2.indd 58 FF: What would you say are your companys mainstrengths? MVZ: We have been audited with zero non-conformities during our FAIM 3.1 audit, which is proof that we offer operational excellence. Our people are our strength; their passion to make a difference to our customers is obvious, and it is the X-factor a company needs to do good business. FF: Why did you decide to rejoin FIDI? MVZ: As part of our group strategy, we want to excel in all the prime markets. Our FIDI membership gives us the tools to support our development in the international marketplace, as well as show our customers that we are a true certified international mover. FF: How did you find the FAIM process? MVZ: We have already been working to the FAIM standards for years, and this way of working along with being ISO 9001(2015) certified meant we had sufficient confidence on audit day. FF: How have you found being a FIDI Affiliate so far? MVZ: We have only just started, yet we feel very welcomeand we are looking forward to being part of this exciting family. FF: Has anything surprised you about the organisation since becoming a member? MVZ: No. As I have been part of the FAIM 3.2 development though, I can say that the organisation has a solid foundation, is well managed, and that were looking forwardto further developments within FIDI in the comingyears. FF: Are you looking forward to playing an active role in your FIDI Association? MVZ: Yes, most definitely. Lets start with the FIDI Amsterdam Conference. Were looking forward to connecting with the other FIDI movers and showing them what Amsterdam has to offer aside from the red lights and coffee shops! Maarten van Zutphen and Patrick Zwerver, Account Manager (Agent Relations), with Gosselin Mobilitys FIDI FAIM certificate FF: Finally, what does the future hold for your company? MVZ: Our company will adapt to the future needs of the mobility industry. This means a continuously changing, livelyenvironment.
