This Safety Notice (SN) highlights when ROCC holders should give pilots additional information to alert them to hazards and avoid immediate danger. While the guidance broadly applies to all holders of an ROCC, it is aimed primarily at AGCS and OCS radio station operators. SN-2023/001 (Version 2 Apr 2024) Global Navigation Satellite System Outage Leading to Navigation/ Surveillance Degradation The issue of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) jamming and/or spoofing has increased since 2022, particularly in areas surrounding conflict zones, but also in the south and eastern Mediterranean, Black Sea, Baltic Sea and Arctic areas. This SN is issued to raise awareness, advise Operators who may be impacted by the loss or degradation of GNSS signals, update the affected areas, and include the newest information. SN-2015/007 (Version 2 Mar 2024) Use of Government/ Military Aerodromes by Civil Aircraft Operators Civil flight operations into Government aerodromes are commonplace, but it cant be guaranteed that such aerodromes meet the requirements of ICAO Annex 14 Volume I Aerodrome Design and Operations and Volume II Heliports. The aerodrome has a responsibility to clearly identify obstacles so that operators can satisfy themselves that normal safety margins can be achieved. Any non-compliances with normal procedure standards should be clear within the AIP, including a statement of operator responsibility to conduct a specific assessment. SW2024/086 Update to UK CAA website content Human Factors Fatigue The UK CAA has updated Human Factors web pages on fatigue management. There is also a new page with resources and information on regulations around fatigue for air traffic controllers. SW2024/080 Minimum Equipment List Compliance Guidance The CAA website has been updated to give additional and enhanced guidance on MEL and MMELs for operators. SW2024/074 Loss of Control Stall and Spin Awareness Animation Loss of control in recreational flying is a big safety concern. This animation for general aviation pilots covers the importance of being practised in stall and spin recovery techniques, and use of parachutes. 13 THE LOG Sum 24 pp13 Log Notices.indd 13 13/06/2024 13:00
