It provides the criteria applied by the CAA in assessing the standards of offshore helicopter landing areas for worldwide use by helicopters registered in the United Kingdom. This new edition includes: updates and modifications to the material on helideck movement, meteorological information and helideck surface guidance; the bringing together of specifications for helideck status lights, monitoring system repeater lights and helicopter hoist status light specifications; and the simplification of protocol for regulating operations to NUIs in abnormal states. SW 2023/024 New hot-spot narrative from the Midlands LAIT Preventing airspace infringements in the vicinity of Coventry Aerodrome has been written by the Midlands Local Airspace Infringement Team (LAIT). Looking at 2022 statistics, the LAIT identified a significant hot-spot for airspace infringements of the Birmingham Control Area (CTA-2) in the vicinity of and, in particular, to the southwest of Coventry Aerodrome Traffic Zone. SW 2023/019 Flight Crew Human Factors Handbook (CAP 737) CAP 737 Flight Crew Human Factors Handbook has been restructured in response to commercial air transport needs, identified by the CAA and reviewed by the Flight Crew Human Factors Advisory Panel, to introduce the concept of Competency Based Training and Assessment, and provide an update for practical CRM training guidance. Much of the content is applicable to everyone, including those operating as flight crew, cabin crew, and those operating small, single-pilot aircraft. SW2023/017 Introduction of SSAC-Class 5: Experience flight in ex-military jet aeroplanes Following an eight-week consultation last summer, CAP1395 has been amended to include this new class of SSAC activity under the existing SSAC policy to allow paidfor recreational flights in ex-military fast jet aeroplanes.
