TECH LOG Log notices The latest information and safety notices READ MORE Pilots Advisory Group SN 2021/017 Potential interference risk to radio altimeters from 5G mobile technology (Version 2 issued: 18 January 2022) The purpose of this Safety Notice (SN) is to provide information and guidance for operators regarding potential interference to the operation of radio altimeters from 5G mobile technology. This SN has been revised to clarify the required actions when flying in areas where restrictions may be in place. Operators should ensure their flight crew is aware of the possible implications of radio altimeter malfunctions for the types of aircraft operated; this may be particularly relevant when conducting Low Visibility Operations. SN 2017/001 Department for Transport security advice to air operators (Version 4 Updated: 3 February 2022) The purpose of this Safety Notice (SN) is to remind or alert UK aircraft operators to the international security threat and risk information available from the Department for Transport (DfT). Any aircraft operators intending to fly internationally, particularly to countries in the Middle East, Africa or Asia, should consider contacting the DfT for security advice. SW2022/003 CAA consultation on a draft of the Airspace Modernisation Strategy 20222040 Modernisation of UK airspace, delivering quicker, quieter and cleaner journeys, is long overdue. Today, the CAA launches a consultation on a refreshed Airspace Modernisation Strategy to: Extend the strategy to 2040 Focus on integrating all airspace users with simpler airspace design and supporting regulations Introduce sustainability as an overarching principle across all modernisation activities Align with the ICAO Global Air Navigation Plan and provide a clear strategic path for rulemaking, now the UK has left the EU and EASA.
