Thoseare some of the questions and topics that expertswill be facing at this years CTSI Conference, to be held at Harrogate International Centre from 26-29 June. A panel of esteemed professionals will debate the issues that are at the forefront of our minds at the plenary sessions, taking place on the Tuesday and Wednesday of the four-day event. Journalist, TV presenter and consumer campaigner Lynn Faulds Wood, who ledthereview of the UKsproduct recallsystem,will host Tuesdays debate on the role of trading standards in todays world. Our panel of experts will consider the wider implications of a shift to intelligence-led, high-profile work to tackle threats, as well as the benefits of shared working. Meanwhile, journalist, TV presenter and former BBC Breakfast business correspondent Declan Currywill be leading a debate on the future of business compliance on Wednesday, with discussions centred on how firms can demonstrate that they maintain industry standards. Some of the confirmed panel speakers include: Greg Jackson, founder and chief executive of Octopus Energy; Professor Steve Tombs, professor of criminology at the Open University; Lewis Shand Smith, chief executive and chief ombudsman of Ombudsman Services; and Richard Flinton, chief executive of North Yorkshire County Council. For those who wish to honetheir skills and boost their CPPD, there is the usualchoice of mini-theatres to attend, ranging from best practiceto legal updates,with sessions hosted by the Competition and Markets Authority, Regulatory Delivery and the Advertising Standards Authority, to name a few.
