Email TGallagher@lambeth.gov.uk Code call for evidence On 11 September, the BPA was invited to a ministerial round table meeting with Minister Dehenna Davison on the Private Parking Code of Practice call for evidence. Sara Roberts, head of Conformity Assessment Body Transition; BPA member representatives including BPA President Stuart Harrison and a delegation from the IPC, attended the event. They shared views and concerns, including around data and assumptions in the draft impact assessment, and data and information requested in the call for evidence. The BPA has reviewed the draft impact assessment and the questions in the call for evidence and produced documents to help members identify what they might include in their response. It has also produced a response template for members to complete to ensure they do not inadvertently overlook any questions, and has provided text to use when providing commercially sensitive and confidential information, which will help to protect their data. Please also note that, following discussions with the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, it has added Annex C to the call for evidence. The call for evidence closes on 8 October, so this is your last chance to make your voice heard, if you havent already done so. Thank you to members and stakeholders who have already responded to the call for evidence. If you need more support to help you in your response, please do get in touch with us urgently, said Roberts. During this important transitional period for the private parking sector, we have created a space on LinkedIn to keep you informed and up to date with all the latest developments relating to the new Code. The BPA has held call for evidence clinics to offer tailored support and guidance to members making their own submissions. There are also webinars to support AOS members at britishparking.co.uk/Past-Webinars For more support, email AOS-member-enquiries@britishparking.co.uk Congratulations, Mark! Area manager Mark Osmond celebrated 20 years at the BPA last month. Ryan Davey, senior area manager, said: We have had many new accreditations in this time and lots of changes to the way we work and in the industry, but Mark has been a constant in all of this. There is very little that he doesnt know about parking; his knowledge amazes me, and he is always willing to share his expertise. The area managers, in particular, are very grateful for having Mark on our team. He is an excellent ambassador for the Safer Parking Scheme and is always looking to raise standards. This is often shown with the new-build car parks in his area. He works with developers, architects and the police to ensure that crime prevention is adopted at the earliest stage and crime is designed out at the planning stage. I look forward to many more years working with Mark and I am extremely grateful to have him in my team. Congratulations to BPA Lawlines James Harvey, who has qualified as a solicitor after completing his training. He now has a full-time role in Derek MillardSmiths infrastructure and corporate (consumer and parking) regulation team at BPA Lawlines JMW Solicitors.
