Parking Scotland Expo The Parking Scotland Expo is a fantastic event in the BPA calendar that has always been highly valued and extremely well supported. I am looking forward to meeting many of our members there at one of my first events as BPA President Stuart Harrison, BPA President and traffic management professionals. My experience within this industry, and my daily activity, leads me to want to break that down further, into: Motorists: how do we/can we engage with, encourage and incentivise motorists to better use and abide by the rules of the provided facilities? What do we/can we do to improve the relationship between motorists and the sector to benefit all stakeholders? Society: how can we improve the provision and, therefore, increase the use of facilities? What positive impact can our member actions have on improving the end user experience for all society? How do we create an environment where disabled driver accessibility and that of motorists with children, is at a level that entices these demographics back to our high streets, benefiting all society. Environment: how do we/can we engage with user groups, suppliers and regulatory bodies to benefit all stakeholders with regards to electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, making strides towards CO2 reductions as we do so? Although this years Parking Scotland Expo comes at a time of industry uncertainty caused by ongoing discussions about the new Code of Practice and the anticipated go live date of the pavement parking prohibitions, I believe the industry I have worked within since 2006 is in a far healthier position today than it has ever been. I look forward to welcoming you to the 2023 Parking Expo Scotland, having discussions, broadening horizons, and tweaking perspectives, all with the goal of ensuring parking in Scotland is accessible to all and delivers the inclusive and environmental goals that have been set.
