People in Parking Awards/Ernest Davies Award Take a bow The 2022 People in Parking Awards celebrated great talent in the sector with some outstanding entries. Here, the winners share their stories Ernest Davies Award winner Jamie Ashford, director, DCB Legal Ernest Davies Award highly commended Douglas Blackwell, business development officer, Crowd House Energy When I saw the email from the BPA, calling for entries for the award, I thought why not try to put down in words my experiences, and how I have benefited from being a member of the Women in Parking community. Its a very frank article and, to be honest, I didnt expect to win, so it was a nice surprise. Hopefully it will encourage others particularly men to get involved, because this is so much bigger than me winning the award. Its about us all coming together to make changes that will benefit everyone. I would like to thank the BPA for providing me with the opportunity to reflect on Ernest Davies contributions and the resilience of his legacy. The BPA continues to be at the forefront of parking innovation, linking not only members and developers, but also users a very diverse group of motorists with one common aim: getting to their destination and returning home safely without incident.
