British Parking Awards Take a bow The 20th British Parking Awards took place on 19 October and as always, the projects and people recognised were impressive and inspiring t was with pride and a sense of anticipation that the parking community gathered for the British Parking Awards 2022. A total of 20 award ceremonies have been held now since the very first one back in 2002. When I spoke to Mark Moran, the man behind the awards, in 2020, he told me that the pride of the winners and keenness of the competition had been there since the beginning. People were really excited to win the trophy and then those who didnt win were saying were going to be back to win it next year! And yes, 20 years later the event is bigger, flashier and just as sought-after as it ever was it even got airtime on Radio 2s Breakfast Show! Comedian Kerry Godliman compered at this years event, and she was brilliant handling the subject and crowd with humour and prowess and was delighted to receive her own Parking Award 2022 trophy at the end. Last years event recognised the sterling work done by the sector during the lockdowns, but there was a sense this year of moving the sector into the future, where we need to address the climate emergency and the changing mobility needs of our society. A huge well done to all those shortlisted and especially to the winners. And thanks again to all who entered, the panel of judges, Mark Moran and the Landor team, and all involved in yet another great celebration for and of the parking profession and community.
