Companies news Happy shoppers Flowbird Smart City UK has completed the rollout of its parking app at 14 Waitrose car parks across the UK. App users book their parking session on arrival and receive a reminder when it is set to end, with the option to extend their stay while they shop. Customer feedback has been positive, with users saying they value the flexibility of using cashless payment methods through their own devices, along with the ability to top up their parking on the go. Thanks to Flowbirds solutions, Waitroses customers can now pay for parking with apps, card and cash so theres an option for everyone. Clever parking by APCOA APCOA has supported the University of Warwick to provide a more sustainable and flexible approach to car park management in its 24 car parks. More than 6,000 parking spaces at the university are now managed via APCOAs Parkway ANPR solution, which is fully integrated into its digital platform. It provides a range of customer-centric solutions including pre-book and a self-service portal for use by staff and students. Kim Challis, APCOAs managing director for UK and Ireland, said: Were pleased to deliver this complex project in a short timescale to help the university achieve its aims. Smart move in Milton Keynes FindParkPay joins forces with ZatPark FindParkPay, a parking startup founded by Tim Macknelly and Matthew Ratsey at Falmouth Universitys Launchpad Venture Studio, and ZatPark, which provides parking management software to enable effective enforcement, are teaming up. FindParkPays integration with ZatPark is its first venture and their agreement will initially be implemented at the Priory Road car park in St Austell, which is a Cornwall Council-operated facility. FindParkPay began working with St Austell in late 2021, while ZatPark has been working with Cornwall Council since 2019 across several of its sites. FindParkPay was formed as a mobile payment gateway for parking that negates the need to download and set up an app, making paying for parking quick, easy and efficient for customers and car park operators. Chris Hassall, Launchpad senior business coach, said: This partnership offers a fantastic opportunity for FindParkPay to grow into new locations, giving it a great selling advantage by providing a fully integrated solution for local car parks while benefiting from the hassle-free FindParkPay parking service. This has given us access to their platform, which is one that is widely used in the parking industry. Smart Parking has taken over the management of Willen Lake visitors car parks in Milton Keynes. The company was selected in 2021 after proposing a solution to deliver an improved customer experience. Smart Parking ambassadors will be on site to provide support during the transition period. Yunexs clean air contract Yunex Traffic has been awarded a contract to design, supply and install a clean air zone (CAZ) camera monitoring and enforcement solution in Sheffield. The introduction of the Class C CAZ follows research that showed air pollution contributes to around 500 deaths a year in Sheffield.
