BPAs 50th anniversary Our Association has come a long way since I joined Council shortly before its 25th anniversary. At the time, the BPA had no xed oces, with a staff of four working part-time from home. Since then, the BPA has evolved from an organisation interested in providing and operating car parks to one that is interested in all aspects of parking management, and over the next 50 years we will need to continue to embrace change and challenge perceptions. Nick Lester-Davies, BPA Council, after-dinner speech Funds and fun C M Y CM MY CY CMY K The Dorchester was a splendid location for the celebration During the dinner, attendees were asked to join in with a fun quiz to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, the BPA members chosen charity. They had to guess the total number of years that the current BPA staff team have collectively worked at the Association, make a donation via QR Code to Macmillan, and then nominate a person from each table to give the agreed answer. The quiz was won by Joel Shipton from Scheidt & Bachmann (UK), who received a 500 Virgin Experience Voucher. The answer to the question was: 270 years! Thanks to all who took part and donated we raised 1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. 36 britishparking.co.uk PN May 2022 pp34-37 Anniversary Special.indd 36 21/04/2022 11:45
