The new structure focuses on supporting the companys three key customer groups: clients, such as cities, local authorities and parking operators; corporate, including fleets and businesses; and consumers, the drivers who use PayByPhones services. Jonny Combe, who has been UK CEO since November 2018, is promoted to lead the global corporate division as CEO corporate. He oversees a team across North America, Europe and the UK to expand the fleet business globally with the recently launched PayByPhone Business, a solution designed to simplify parking for fleet managers and companies. Roamy Valera, PayByPhones CEO of North America, becomes chief client officer in charge of PayByPhones more than 1,300 clients globally. Ryan St Hilaire, PayByPhones vice-president product, will oversee the global consumer division, in addition to overseeing all product work. Parking partners Connected vehicle services provider Parkopedia has partnered with APCOA PARKING Group to deliver automated digital parking payments from within vehicles. Using automatic number plate recognition at APCOAs car park locations across 13 European countries, drivers will be able to enter and exit car parks seamlessly, without requiring a ticket or needing to stop at a pay station. Known as Access and Pay, it will make parking payments quicker, easier and more convenient. Drivers will no longer need to worry about additional-stay costs or fines, as the solution allows digital payments for the total time of the stay, without needing any further action from the driver. The platform also accommodates APCOAs dynamic-pricing structure, covering different tariffs depending on car park occupancy. APCOA has bundled all its sustainability activities in a group-wide environmental, social and governance (ESG) programme called APCOA Sustainability in Action. Kim Challis, regional managing director UK & Ireland, is taking on the additional appointment of group director ESG. Programme core aims include a clear path towards climate neutrality, a defined social agenda for employees and communities, and a governance structure that specifies how it operates. Anthony Cashel, marketing and operations director, is promoted to UK managing director. PayByPhone CEO Andy Gruber says: Moving to a global, customer-focused organisation will allow our customer groups to benefit from dedicated teams and a more tailored approach to their distinct requirements. PayByPhone has replaced its singlecountry app in Italy with its global app. This means the 50 million global PayByPhone users will be able to pay for parking simply and remotely in 100 Italian cities. Italian motorists, meanwhile, will now be able to use their PayByPhone app to park easily in more than 1,200 cities worldwide. Our goal was always to create one global app, on one global platform, servicing the world. Bringing Italy on board is the next step, with plans to launch Germany onto our global app later this year, said Gruber. Anthony Cashel Jonny Combe Roamy Valera Ryan St Hilaire Q-Parks winning streak Q-Park has opened two new multistorey car parks for Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust. The new facilities will provide 400 spaces at Sandwell Hospital and 550 at City Hospital. During the development period, Q-Park also took on operation of the existing surface sites. It worked tirelessly to ensure that these operated smoothly, and that the extensive building work did not disrupt the vital work of the hospitals. Adam Bidder, managing director of Q-Park UK, said: We are delighted to open two new parking facilities for Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust. The provision of quality parking is vitally important for the smooth operation of the healthcare system. We look forward to a long partnership with the NHS Trust. Q-Park provides parking across various NHS Trusts. These include large parking facilities at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, and the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro. Q-Park has introduced its PaSS system into the Shambles car park in York. PaSS is a combination of automatic number plate recognition parking technology and a digital payment solution, simultaneously allowing access to the car park and the taking of payment for parking. This technology is currently available at 14 other facilities across the Q-Park estate. Q-Park is also delighted that its Park Lane Mobility Hub in London has been nominated for a European Parking Award. The winner will be announced at a ceremony in Brussels in September. 10 britishparking.co.uk PN May 2022 pp10-11 Companies News.indd 10 21/04/2022 11:15
