Companies news New client gateway for access to BW Legal BW Legal has launched a new platform where clients can interface with the firm and keep track of their cases. The BW Legal Gateway allows clients who regularly instruct BW Legal to have in-depth insight into case progression and performance, and access to management information in real time. One of the most innovative features of the Gateway is the API integration with ZatPark. BW Legal and ZatPark have been working together to create a platform that offers enhanced capabilities to mutual clients. The API integration reduces the administrative burden and costs for clients. It allows them to allocate files to BW Legal, which automatically picks up the instruction and confirms the take-on of new files. The system also reports client updates back to ZatPark, including payments in respect of PCNs and status updates on relevant cases. PayByPhone expands presence across UK PayByPhone has recently won four contracts to supply mobile parking payment services to local authorities across the UK. PayByPhone launched in the London Borough of Hounslow in December. The fact that drivers can pay for their parking in retail outlets thanks to PayByPhones relationship with PayPoint was an important element in Hounslow Council making the switch. That same month, South Tyneside Council went live with PayByPhone. Surrounding areas were already using PayByPhone, so it made sense for the council to offer the same service. In February 2020, Newark and Sherwood District Council switched to PayByPhone, so it could take advantage of its Dynamic Labelling option to include images of local attractions on the app. Peterborough Council also launched PayByPhone in February, covering 31 key locations across the city. AppyWays Smart City Parking pilot extended by a year AppyWay, the Smart City Parking and kerbside-management firm, has confirmed that Harrogate Borough Council and North Yorkshire County Council will extend the Smart City Parking scheme in Harrogate town centre for a further 12 months. The scheme, launched in January 2019, was a global first. It involved the installation of 2,156 smart sensors and the consolidation of digitised parking data, sensors, parking payments and linear pricing into a single solution for the two authorities. Having been in operation for more than a year, results have shown that: 39 per cent of users stay longer in Harrogate as a result of not worrying about a pay and display (P&D) ticket expiring; 21 per cent have reported saving time finding a car parking space; 66 per cent say that using AppyParking alleviates the stress normally associated with a pay and display ticket expiring; and 89 per cent say that it is more convenient than using a pay and display machine. AppyWay has announced a partnership with Transport for London and the London Freight Lab to modernise freight and servicing in London. The innovation is a real-time kerbside management and utilisation solution for freight and service vehicles in Greater London. Parking heavyweight Rob Stait has been promoted to chief commercial officer at AppyWay. He joined the firm recently, having previously worked for Capita, where as sales and marketing director of Glyde Parking & Traffic Solutions he delivered extraordinary growth for its parking businesses. Clearview strengthens its team with an eye on the future Clearview Intelligence has made three internal promotions to strengthen its senior management team. Chris Keenan moves on to the board as the new director of business, Scotland. He will assume full profit and loss and business development responsibility for Clearview north of the border, after several years of successive growth. Paul Bates takes on the role of director of solutions, which combines leading the product management team with a new, wider remit of special project support. This move creates a single team that will be responsible for developing innovative uses of Clearviews product range on all types of projects. There is also a promotion, to executive director on the main board, for Andy Salotti, who takes on the role of client relationship director. He will be overseeing the externalfacing sales, marketing and client-relationship teams. Boost for Flowbird business development team Leading parking technology company Flowbird has appointed Ashley Bailey to spearhead its business development activities in south-west England, the Midlands and Wales. Bailey joins Flowbird with significant experience in parking services and transportation technology, having travelled the world to help customers meet the challenges of urbanisation. My experience will be valuable in helping local authorities and parking operators optimise the opportunities opening up through digitalisation, said Bailey. In the parking arena, we know there is increasing interest in cloud-enabled terminal services, such as environmental monitoring and dynamic emissions-based charging, but we also see opportunities for the wider integration of parking and transport solutions in the future. 12 britishparking.co.uk PN Apr20 pp10-13 Companies News.indd 12 24/03/2020 15:19
