P E O P L E M OV ES FIDI office says goodbye to Gulya The FIDI team sometimes gets to experience the other side of international moving. Gulya Samadova, who oversaw the FASI programme and represented half of the FIDI finance team, is moving to Abu Dhabi with her family to pursue new professional adventures in 2023. Gulya, the office wont be the same without you. Here are a few things we will miss: random singing from the finance office; daily yoga moves; the Amazon delivery guy ringing at the door; your endearing lack of political correctness; your surprising use of the English language; your contagious laughter and good mood; your continuous friendly fights with Andrew; and your delicious Tajik samosas. All of us in the FIDI team wish you the best in your new life chapter and look forward to hearing your stories about life as an expat in Abu Dhabi. Lane agrees Tigers management buyout Founder and owner of Asian Tigers Indonesia, Gerry Lane, has agreed a management buyout (MBO) with long-term Managing Director of the company, Bill Lloyd. Lane established the Jakarta branch in 1985 and was a founding member of the Asian Tigers Group, which was formed in 1998. Lloyd, who joined the business in 2003, said: Gerry has been instrumental in my mentorship and we share very similar ethics, values and business sense. My promise to him is to ensure his legacy is carried forward and the Asian Tigers level of quality service will never wane. Lloyd said the Indonesian market looks very promising for the coming five years, with its economy forecast to perform well. I will adhere to the quality of service that the Asian Tigers brand is built upon and look to expand the business where appropriate, he said. This is planned to include servicing Indonesias growing middle class, as well as our strong international market. I am very thankful and grateful for the opportunity that both Gerry and Virginia have given me and look forward to continuing to build momentum as the proud Tiger that I have been for nearly 20 years. I also look forward to continuing my path while learning from the other legendary owners of the Tigers: Bill Lloyd (left) and Gerry Lane Eric Lim, Allen Fan, Joseph Song and Rob Chipman. Lane said: With Bills track record over the past 19 years, I am confident that our standards and emphasis on quality will be well maintained into the foreseeable future. The agreement and gradual buyout will begin on 1 January 2023.
