FI D I AC AD E M Y CELEBRATING THE RETURN OF IN-PERSON TRAINING The FIDI Academy strengthened its web-based offer to Affiliates so companies could continue developing their staff during the pandemic. However, while online courses will remain important into the future, businesses have rushed to sign up for the relaunched in-person seminars. Chantal Fera, FIDI Academy Manager, discusses why learning together on site works so well In-person FIDI Academy courses are selling out fast W hile FIDI Academys seminars have taken place successfully online, Affiliates have apparently missed the in-person version of these courses. So much so that when they were relaunched, most places sold out within just a month. While online seminars have worked incredibly well, this highlights the huge demand for meeting together face to face to problem solve, learn, and share experiences. Indeed, this was the format on which the Academy was founded. The pandemic forced us to be creative and to launch a wide range of web-based training opportunities, through Zoom or FIDIs own online learning platform. Although this was challenging for the students and trainers, the success of these online seminars was way beyond our initial expectations. However, as the FIDI Conference in Cannes illustrated, networking and personal exchanges between industry peers is essential within the moving business. The energy created during events held on site creates a rich experience for participants and a great return on investment for the companies sponsoring their delegates to attend. For the future, we at the FIDI Academy believe that we need to offer both seminars in established in-person and new virtual formats. Not every company can afford to have one of its staff members away for a whole week or there may be constraints of budget that prevent them signing up to an in-person seminar. For the great many of you who cant wait to return to a shared classroom for an Academy seminar, book your place as soon as you possibly can. The LiM forum and the on-site MiM2 are fully booked but we still have places available at the EiM seminars.
