Sunnier horizons Welcome to the Summer 2021 edition of TSBN. Frances Darling is trading standards and licensing manager with Shropshire Council, and its representative on the CEnTSA management board The governments roadmap out of Lockdown 3 is well under way and businesses will have greater certainty about the impact of the vaccination programme The last edition was published in November 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic again impacted our plans and we were unable to produce a Spring 2021 issue. As I write, the governments roadmap out of Lockdown 3 is well under way. By the time you read this, the country and businesses specifically will have greater certainty about the much-hoped-for positive impact of the vaccination programme, routine testing, and the COVID-secure measures that have become a normal part of our personal and working lives. This edition of TSBN features a range of information, from key legislative changes and impacts brought about by the UKs exit from the European Union, to regulatory topics that will assist food and pet-food manufacturers. There is also COVID-19 regulatory advice for holiday accommodation providers and hospitality businesses. With cyber attacks on the rise, there is advice about how to protect your business. There is also help for SMEs on how to access supply-chain contracts for large events and significant projects, such as next years Commonwealth Games and HS2. Of course, there is much more, so please read on, and feel free to circulate this and future editions of TSBN to other organisations and your colleagues.
