From the editor-in-chief So are we all clear now...? Chris Fay Editor-in-chief chrisf@tsi.org.uk Welcome to this months edition of TS Today, which comes to you with news of the Liverpool review. Apologies if we have been somewhat quiet on this front but, as Im sure you will appreciate, we could not risk prejudicing any hearings. We know that legal challenges are a consideration for councils making cuts, and CTSI is here to support its members and their employers. The latest agreement from Liverpool is clear and, among other things, the council must consider its European Union consumer protection duties. Meanwhile, Theresa May has given the first clear indication of what those duties might look like, post Brexit... or has she? The Great Repeal Bill, announced at the Conservative party conference, will convert all EU requirements into British law as Britain exits the bloc, which sounds simple enough only it will include powers to change laws using secondary legislation to take account both of the ongoing negotiations and the UKs future relationship with the EU which, to my mind, puts us largely where we started before the Prime Ministers announcement. Thanks for reading, Chris PS: Thanks to those of you who quite rightly emailed to say we had made a mistake in last weeks special edition of TSUpdate. National Consumer Week will, of course, run from Monday 28November, to Friday 2 December, and not toNovember 2, as stated.
