Behind him, on the CTSI stand in Bournemouth International Centres exhibition hall, stood the vellum charter evidence of the institutes achievement. McGinty went on to affirm the centrality of Conference to the trading standards calendar: We are in difficult times, with tough challenges ahead. Conference is our chance to come together and find ways to overcome them. He thanked the sponsors, CTSI staff, exhibitors, speakers and volunteers for making the weeks events possible. Baroness Christine Crawley, president of CTSI, also took the opportunity to welcome visitors. It has been an extraordinary year for the institute. Chartered status has been a fantastic achievement, a way of showing the country the expertise and values of our profession, she said. Despite all the challenges, trading standards has so much potential. Were not going to roll over. Were not going to give up.
