Consumer Weeks theme hits the mark Suzanne Kuyser Editor-in-chief suzannek@tsi.org.uk As I write, a team of head office volunteers are just sealing up the last boxes and envelopes containing all the orders for posters and postcards for National Consumer Week. With more than 110 local authorities requesting materials, this years theme of Good Neighbours Stop Rogue Traders has clearly hit the mark and I am delighted at the response, which stretches from the Shetland Islands to Truro, and from Anglesey to Norwich. The winner of our National Consumer Week video competition, sponsored by the Institute of Professional Willwriters and the Scottish Institute of Professional Willwriters, will be announced in early November. The video will available for all to use and we are hoping it will go viral to spread the message. The theme of dealing with rogue traders is reflected in this months feature on facial mapping, demonstrating that trading standards is determined to stay ahead of the game, considering every type of technology as a potential tool for catching those who prey on the vulnerable.
