PE O PLE M OVE S ALFA APPOINTS NEW CEO AND MOVES HQ Annika Roup Scandinavian moving and relocation company Alfa Quality Moving Sweden has appointed Annika Roup CEO and Managing Director. Roup, who brings experience to the industry from sectors including telecoms, told FIDI Focus: I was attracted to Alfa for many reasons. I really liked the diversity of the sector, with many different services. It is a business that will grow and evolve, which is exciting, especially as it is an international business where partnerships are important. I was also attracted by the professionalism of the people at Alfa. They are really proud of what they do, and I look forward to a journey into the future with this team. Alfa Scandinavia Chairman Hans-Gran Frick thanked outgoing CEO Kenneth Egelrud and added: Annika has extensive leadership experience from both large international as well as smaller corporations, such as Ericsson, Stanley Security, Lernia, and Ventelo. Her areas of expertise are management, sales and marketing, business development, and business transformation and digitalisation. Alfa has also announced it is moving its headquarters from Jnkping to Stockholm. SCHAEFERS LEAVES ASIAN TIGERS VAN VALEN JUMPS IN AT DIJKSHOORN Rene van Valen has been appointed by Gerson Relocation as its General Manager for the Netherlands. He joins the business after leaving the Van der Ent group, where he was International General Manager for four and a half years, and after Dijkshoorn was acquired by Gerson Relocation. Announcing the move, Gerson said in a statement: 2021 will be a year of change and opportunity, not only for Gerson Relocation and Dijkshoorn, but also our wider industry. Renes relocation industry career spans 25 years, during which time he has held senior roles within the corporate, consumer and commercial areas of the relocation industry. Starting in January, he will lead the progression and sustainable growth of Gerson Relocation in Europe, from our newly formed office in the Rotterdam area of the Netherlands. Renes key focus will be the development of Gerson Relocation BV within the Netherlands and the wider European market. Van Valen is a FIDI Netherlands Board member, Chair of the FAIM Supervisory Committee and member of the PCGs committee, as well as a FIDI Academy Trainer. Rene van Valen Asian Tigers China has announced that Peter Schaefers is stepping down as USA representative for the business, as he is retiring. He was reappointed to the role in November 2019. Jason Will, Country Manager China, said: We would like to thank Peter for his efforts and contributions to Asian Tigers China over the past 12 months.
