L I G H T E R S I DE DIJKSHOORN MOVES FAMILY IN NEED Dijkshoorn Euromovers, of Vlaardingen in the Netherlands, has again helped the Verhuisfamilie (relocation family) foundation by coming to the aid of a single mother with children, who needed to move but had no money to do so and no relatives to help. Seven volunteers helped with packing and unpacking, and the handling of household goods. The Verhuisfamilie supports underprivileged people who need to move. It raises funds and cooperates with local volunteering organisations and moving companies. BISHOPS MOVE SETS UP FOOD BANK COLLECTION POINTS UK Affiliate Bishops Move is helping food banks across the UK by setting up collection points at all of its branches. Employees and customers can drop off their donations at any of these, and the company will deliver them to a local food bank, which includes The Trussell Trust centres. The companys Edinburgh branch has partnered with local food bank and drop-in centre Food Facts and Friends. Dijkshoorn carrying out the charity move Paxton carries out food rescue Washington-based Paxton International once more partnered with Move for Hunger to salvage unused food and drink from the Washington DC Rock n Roll Marathon. It collected in excess of 20,000lbs of food - enough for more than 16,500 meals - and delivered it to food banks in the local area. A spokesperson for Paxton said: Often, with large events such as these comes unnecessary waste, which could provide help to so many in need with just a little forward planning.
