FF: What are your main strengths as an organisation? CW: We have an extremely flat organisation and it works if everybody takes responsibility and strives for the common goals we have. I have always believed that the more responsibility you give your employees, the more they want to give back to the company and, so far, it has worked. Westin believes the more responsibility employees are given, the more theywant to give back to the company FF: Currently, what are the key markets for SBK Moving, Sweden? CW: We have seen tremendous growth in the Portugal market because of tax incentives introduced by the Portuguese government. Our main market, southern France, has also shown growth in recent years. CHRISTOFFER WESTIN, CEO AT SBKMOVING FF: How has the countrys moving industry evolved over the past decade? CW: Swedes have always been ready to move around the world; seven per cent live outside of Sweden in fact, the Swedish population of the UK equals the 10th largest city in Sweden. For the past 10 years, we have seen continuous growth in the intra-European and overseas markets, which we have developed to great success. FF: Where are your biggest opportunities for growth? CW: Recently, we introduced fine art to our portfolio and have great expectations that it will be an important part ofour future business. FF: Describe your companys business ethos CW: We are an old removal company with longtraditions in the moving industry. The management today is fairly young, and I think we have succeeded in combining theold-fashioned way of working by owning removalvans and employing our own packing crews with 76 FF292 AugSep19 pp76-77 New Affiliate 1.indd 76 FF: Have there been any standout projects youve completed in the past? CW: A Christmas delivery to several chalets in Verbier, Switzerland, in December was quite a challenge especially when half a metre of new snow fell on the day we arrived! Each year we are in Verbier before Christmas, so we know the area and who to contact to assist us when the removal van gets stuck, but it can be a challenge. FF: Why did you decide to join FIDI? CW: For the past four to five years, our international business has grown a lot and we felt that FIDI was the right way for us to go to increase our footprint internationally. Being a member lets our customers know that we are a company that takes international moving seriously, and that we are committed to quality. FF: How did you find the FAIM process? CW: It was challenging, of course, but the FAIM process has helped us to become efficient in all aspects of the moving chain. We are also very proud to not have recorded any faults in the certifications process, making us one of the top performers. FF: How have you found being a FIDI Affiliate so far hasit met your expectations? CW: We like the fact that we belong to a group of quality removal companies, and have been pleasantly surprised to receive such positive feedback from other FIDI Affiliates around the world. We are very excited to start working with more FIDI companies. FF: Finally, what does the future hold for your company? CW: Our goal is to continue growing and, at the same time, have control over the flow in the business. We will alwaysown our removal vans and ensure the equipment isup to date. WWW. F I D I .
