Editorial Whats in a name? A s the saying goes: The only thing that is constant is change, and thats the same in the world of Interfleet. As you will have seen over recent months, Interfleet will be rebranding and changing to the name of our parent company, SNC-Lavalin, from January 2016. Issue 4 of Interview will therefore be the final issue of the magazine in its current form. Over the past two years, Interview has built up its reputation as the transport industry magazine from Interfleet. Looking ahead, we will be changing the name, the focus and the look of the magazine but we will still be aiming to deliver the same quality that youve come to expect since its launch in 2013. There are changes not only in the name but also in focus for SNC-Lavalin. Since we last published in April 2015, SNC-Lavalin has a new Chief Executive. Neil Bruce took over from Bob Card in October and, since his appointment, has talked about a revised focus on both project delivery and on rail. SNC-Lavalin provides comprehensive services in rail and transit, and Interfleet will now form the engineering cornerstone of a newly created division within the Infrastructure sector. The current Interfleet business and its specialists will be fully integrated into this wider SNC-Lavalin organisation, which was announced in November. See here for more details on these changes. Not only do we talk about the future of the organisation in this issue but our cover story is focused on the future of rail our graduates. The UK region has a renowned graduate scheme and, you can read more about graduates, past, present and future. John Jelley, a former alumni from the graduate scheme, is also featured in our 60-second interview on the back page. Other features include a focus on our Infrastructure team, our fourth and one of the most recently established product areas of the business. Deputy Director James Howles is interviewed here. We may be retiring the Interfleet brand, but that doesnt mean the business or even I will be retiring too. Even with a change of name we will be delivering the same level of expertise for our clients. As our main message for 2016 states: Our name has changed, our people havent. richard george group managing Director, Rail & transit engineering SNC-Lavalin interview@interfleet.co.uk www.interfleetgroup.com
