BPA News Updates and information from the BPA team Association calendar 3 DECEMBER London Group meeting 4 DECEMBER Southern Group meeting 5 DECEMBER South West Group meeting 12 DECEMBER Parking Technology Group meeting 12 FEBRUARY Retail and Leisure Group meeting BPA continues to invest in individual membership The BPAs programme of investment into individual membership is expected to complete another milestone this month with the introduction of a BPA discounts app. Other benefits already include access to hundreds of e-learning courses and a well-being hub, Confidential Care, launched last month. This is an exciting time for individual membership, said Sarah Feeley, professional development manager and account manager for individual members. We are really pleased with the additional benefits we are introducing that are designed to support the professional development of people working in the parking sector. Individual membership numbers have grown by 91 per cent during the past year. Many corporate members are seeing the benefit of paying for their staff to have individual membership because it is such a cost-effective way to provide e-learning and counselling support. Next year, the BPA plans to introduce a mentoring scheme, a jobs board and an event for individual members. If youd like more information about individual membership, please contact the BPA membership team at membership@britishparking.co.uk 25 FEBRUARY AOS Conference 18 MARCH Parking and Transport Wales Conference 17-18 JUNE Parkex 10 SEPTEMBER Parking Scotland Expo 13 OCTOBER BPA Annual Conference The full calendar of meetings and events will be published on britishparking.co.uk Charity partner votes The BPAs three-year partnership with Marie Curie is coming to an end. The new partnership with the chosen charity will start in 2020 and run for three years. Look out for an announcement about the new charity soon on the BPAs social media channels search for @BritishParking newsletters and at britishparking.co.uk BPA centre stage at EV Everything The BPA Technology, Innovation and Research (TIR) team took centre stage at Solarmedias EV Everything Live event last month. Julian OKelly, head of TIR, was asked to chair proceedings, and was joined by TIR board member Anthony Eskinazi of JustPark, and BPA members Paul Gallagher from JLL and Claudia Corrigan from London Councils to give a panel presentation on Charging the revolution realising the potential of parking as a charging destination. OKelly introduced the BPA, focusing on the unique opportunities that member events and platforms such as Parking News offer the EV sector to connect with BPA members, and on the upcoming collaboration with Sussex University (see University project gives connected value story, right). Corrigan gave an update on how London Councils has overseen investment from the governments Go Ultra Low fund, followed by an overview of JLLs data-driven research to advise clients on where to install chargepoints, concluding with a presentation on how JustPark is helping to create value from EV charging, and parkings role supporting the future of mobility. It was great to see the level of interest the EV sector has in parking, said TIR officer Joey McLaughlan. We began some important conversations with key players who are keen to join up and share their knowledge and business ideas with membership. 42 britishparking.co.uk PN Dec19 pp42-43 BPA News.indd 42 25/11/2019 13:37
