BPA News Updates and information from the BPA team BPA launches new Car Park Audit Report Have your say The government wants to hear your views on electric vehicle (EV) charging including regulations on non-residential and residential EV charge points and the smart technology around it. EV charging is a topic that is never far from members lips; it is both an opportunity and a challenge to ensure careful planning of the many issues involved. This is our chance to feed into this process, so please do send us your views on these consultations. The BPA has launched the Car Park Audit Report to its Approved Operator Scheme (AOS) members, in response to demand for detailed feedback after mystery shop car park visits from the BPAs auditors. The initiative allows members to take control by requesting a specific car park visit, from which they will receive detailed feedback on the condition and operation of the facility. The audit will measure performance against specific clauses within the BPAs Code of Practice. This will cover all aspects of signage from size, to terms and conditions, position of signs and best practice guidance. Also included is surface area condition including lines, bay markings and directional signs. Against each clause, the auditor will give detailed feedback with a pass or fail final assessment, and photographs of entrance signs and car park signage will be included. Operators can choose to audit a single car park or multiple sites, depending on requirements. Each car park report is valid for two years. We are constantly looking to improve standards and the image of private parking. The Car Park Audit Report has the potential to do both, said Steve Clark, head of operational services. The amount of detail it includes can demonstrate high standards currently in place, or be used as evidence to show a car park has improved. The report is a vital communication tool to motorists and landowners of our members professionalism. The Car Park Audit Report has been launched at an introductory flat rate of 90 per report.
