Upfront Autumn agenda Andrew Pester looks forward to a busy new term September sees the start of our autumn round of membership events. As ever, weve got a vibrant and member-inspired programme with something for everyone. Our Parking Scotland Expo later this month is a key event for our Association, and rightly so. Since its humble beginnings as a Scottish Group meeting, it has become an essential annual event for everyone working in parking and traffic management in Scotland. This year, we are at a brilliant new venue the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow and it is giving us greater capacity and opportunity for innovation. Were expecting more attendees and exhibitors than ever. The exciting programme features a great line-up of speakers, including Colin Dunipace, adjudicator at Parking and Bus Lane Tribunal Service for Scotland, and Lorriane Caddle, Parking Scotlands head of road policy. Im looking forward to seeing many of you and especially our Scottish members at this important event. We are also getting ready for our Associations Annual Conference in London on 17 October. This event is at a new venue as well the Leonardo Royal London St Pauls Hotel. Our gamechanger programme has another strong line-up of speakers and thought leaders, focusing on the key topics of relevance to our members. We are watching with interest the developments in government under a new Prime Minister who has a clear focus on Brexit and his newly appointed cabinet. As you would expect, we are contacting new minsters in departments that are key for us, including the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, and the Department for Transport. Meanwhile, we continue to engage with officials on our member-led initiatives, which include connected and autonomous vehicles, the Traffic Regulation Orders Discovery Project, Blue Badge reform, clean air zones, congestion management, and the Parking [Code of Practice] Act 2019. You can be sure some of these topics will feature heavily in our Parking Scotland Expo and the Annual Conference, as they will impact on everything we do. Our BPA community continues to grow and reflect the evolving diversity of our sector this is our key strength.
