profile | ABE ALUMNI PROFILE: Su Myat Aung Su Myat Aung has a senior role as assistant general manager at Sae Paing Development, a major Myanmar real estate and property development company with more than 700 employees. She tells us how her career started on a different path and the part ABE played in her change of direction I was born and raised in Mandalay, and began my career in Yangon. My father was a retired government officer, while my mother fully supported him behind the scenes. I graduated from the University of Foreign Languages Mandalay (UFL) with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in French. I am currently studying for an MBA from the University of Northampton and pursuing a leadership development programme as a chosen Fellow 2019 of The DeBoer Foundation. From a young age, Ive dreamed of being a successful career woman. My career path has been diverse and varied. I earned my first salary teaching at a private international school. Then, in the second semester of my first year at UFL, I took to the catwalk and began modelling as a part-time career, winning a number of pageant competitions. After graduating, I joined a domestic airline as a junior flight attendant, eventually becoming | PAGE 16 MAY-OCTOBER 2019 | focus cabin crew in-charge. Achieving the ABE Level 6 helped me to realise that being a flight attendant couldnt drive me to my end goals. I changed path, and here I am today. Having built up diverse experience in the real estate industry, I joined Sae Paing Development as assistant general manager of sales, marketing and leasing. I am also responsible for coordination with the Myanmar Developers Association for marketing and sales activities. Sae Paing Development is one of the fastest-growing real estate development companies in Myanmar, with more than 700 employees. We are committed to creating and delivering a quality lifestyle for every family. I found out about ABE in 2011, when oneof my colleagues began talking about education and mentioned ABE. I am a learning addict, so I decided to try to find out more about how ABE works. The more I observed, the more I believed My advice to those starting out or considering ABE studies is just do it.
