FAI M C E N TRE THE NEW FEATHER IN THE CAP OF FIDI AFFILIATES Jesse van Sas explains more about the new FAIM-DSP certification I t shouldnt come as news to anyone that the moving industry has changed massively over the years. Recent developments in the relo market confirm one trend that seems to be here to stay: more and more moving companies are diversifying their core activities (or joining forces with other actors) to include destination services, such as home and school search, visa and immigration, and so on. Following these changes, and after listening to recurring requests from our membership, FIDI has decided to develop a new DSP certification. This will be available as an optional module to Affiliates who also offer specific destination services. So, what does this additional certification bring to FIDI Affiliates? DSPs must have knowledge of each market, including its school systems 1. Compliance and proof of quality DSP has become an integral part of the services offered by Affiliates to corporate customers and RMCs. Increasingly, these ask for proof of quality, similar to FAIM. As these services are not directly related to international moving, the FAIM certificate does not cover these activities. As much as FAIM is necessary today to demonstrate compliance and quality assurance for the moving process, the relocation industry is asking for a recognised certification of the DSP part. The DSP certification will fill that gap in the market. 2. Credibility FAIM has become the only standard of quality for international moving, internationally recognised and increasingly demanded by corporate customers worldwide. FAIM has built a great reputation, thanks to the audit process performed by a renowned, independent third party, EY. The DSP certification will build on this reputation, using the same philosophy and approach, thereby making it the only credible certification. 3. Relevancy The certification is, like FAIM, built as a response to growing market requirements in our industry, in terms of services, supply chain management and compliance with data protection, anti-bribery, anti-trust, and so on. It does not stop at policies, declarations and intentions; the audit verifies the application of those principles at file level. It shows the customer that quality requirements are consistently applied (and verified). 4. Cost efficiency Using the same auditor, on the same day as your FAIM audit, with the same methodology and terminology, the new DSP certification ensures a serious saving on the audit cost, as well as on your time and resources spent on the audit. Any help you can get to stand out should be embraced and a reputed certification proving the quality of your services is a definite advantage. If your company provides DSP services, make sure to add this as an additional feather in your cap. WW W. F I D I. O R G FF295 FebMar20 pp50-55 FAIM DSP.indd 51 51 21/01/2020 13:20
