IN D U ST RY N EW S Santa Fe Group sells to Lazarus Santa Fe Group has sold its moving and relocation business to Lazarus Equity Partners, which is now held by Lazarus in a new Swedish private company, Santa Fe Intressenter AB, with support from Santa Fe Groups previous nance partner, Proventus Capital. Santa Fe Chairman Henning Kruse Petersen said: We have looked into all options for renancing. We have found that it was simply not possible under terms where it would at the same time be feasible to run the business under acceptable conditions. Therefore, we are very pleased with the agreement we have entered into with Lazarus Equity Partners. I am pleased that Santa Fe Relocation has been retained as a continuing company, with 1,800 jobs, that will continue to serve the companys customers and creditors. In a letter, the company has assured the industry that service delivery would not be adversely affected by the changes, and that current Santa Fe employees would continue to support the business. We are thrilled to assume the operational responsibility and ownership of Santa Fe Relocation. We believe that the business has great potential. Our main focus will remain on exceeding customer and assignee satisfaction, said Yann Blandy, incoming Chief Executive Ofcer of Santa Fe Relocation. NEWS IN BRIEF JK AND YEMBO LAUNCH AI MOVE SURVEYS JK Moving Services has partnered with Yembo to offer its government and residential customers real-time virtual surveys of their household goods and office moves. The technology, which has been in use since the beginning of the year, is based on artificial intelligence (AI) and aims to speed the moving process, decreasing the time it takes to take inventories and give estimates. It is the latest in a series of modernisations at JK Moving, which include the introduction of an app that allows clients to receive and review estimates, and the addition of dashcam technology across JKs fleet of vehicles. Being able to survey a house or office by simply pointing and clicking a smartphone using the Yembo interface helps us instantly develop an inventory and estimate, said David Cox, Executive Vice-President of JK. According to Yembo, the visual inventory gives move coordinators, dispatchers, and managers a greater ability to visualise and plan moves. It has increased the number of visual surveys the JK team can complete in a day by up to 50 per cent.
