About Health Innovation East

About us Connect. Accelerate. Deliver. At Health Innovation East we believe that great ideas only make a difference for our health when they are put into practice. We are a team of expert advisors and programme leaders passionate about helping the best innovations in health and care reach the people, places and problems where they bring most benefit. Whether working with global companies, pioneering start-ups, leading universities or regional health providers, we never lose sight of the patients and communities we serve. We were established, and are still largely funded by, the NHS and the Office for Life Sciences as a part of the Health Innovation Network a group of 15 Health Innovation Networks throughout England that improve health and generate economic growth in regionally distinct ways. As the regional innovation arm of the NHS, our team collectively possesses the skills and capabilities required to support the latest advances in healthcare. We now number almost 70 people from diverse professional backgrounds, and our professional experiences and trusted relationships mean that we understand not only the policies and processes underpinning health and care, but also the practicalities of delivering meaningful change in the real world. During the past 12 months we have also made significant progress on shaping our value proposition by growing our specialist services in health informatics and real-world evaluation and our consulting offer more generally. We are proud of this increasingly diverse portfolio of work, which ultimately enables us to broaden our impact on the healthcare services from which we all benefit. Priorities: our core work We work on technology-enabled change programmes and improve care pathways alongside clinicians and managers. We also support the health and life sciences industry and academics to position their products for use across the healthcare system. Our focus areas support the adoption of the major Health Innovation Network national programmes, and we also prioritise the key areas of health and care highlighted in the NHS Long Term Plan and Core20PLUS5 policy framework alongside our local work.
